Troops
Troops
Troops are the units you recruit to attack rivals, defend your own bakeries, and scout the map. You train them at a bakery and they stay garrisoned there until you send them somewhere.
Recruiting
Open one of your bakeries and use the recruit panel. Recruiting costs both $BREAD and Wheat, and the units are added to that bakery's garrison. You can only recruit at a finished bakery (not one under construction or abandoned).
The five units and their jobs
Each unit is built for one job. A good army mixes them.
- Snatcher - your looter. Cheap, weak in a fight, but carries lots of stolen goods. Bring Snatchers when you want to haul home wheat and $BREAD.
- Bruiser - your main attacker. Hits hard to break through enemy defenders, but carries almost nothing. Bruisers win the fight; Snatchers carry the loot.
- Guard - your defender. Tough on defense but cannot leave the bakery - Guards never travel, so they only ever protect the bakery you train them at.
- Wrecker - your demolition unit. Sent on sabotage to damage and destroy enemy buildings and amenities.
- Scout - your spy. Fast and fragile. Sent on a scout mission to reveal a target's garrison, defenses, and roughly how much it is holding. VERIFY: brief calls this unit "Lookout"; the code and recruit UI both label it "Scout"

Guards can't be sent on missions. If you want a bakery defended, recruit Guards there and leave them home.
From a bakery you can send Snatchers, Bruisers, Wreckers, and Scouts out on raids, sabotage, scouting, or to reinforce a clanmate. The whole army travels at the speed of its slowest unit, so mixing a slow unit into a fast group slows everyone down.
